Biomedical Applications
We are interested in the transport phenomena applications of biomedical processes. Our goal is to work closely with medical professionals to develop engineering insight into biomedical processes for the purpose of optimizing treatment planning and drug delivery, through the use of physics-based models. We are active in two joint projects, one involving modeling of airflow in the upper airway of an exercising horse (with Professor Normand Ducharme of the College of Veterinary Medicine, Cornell University) and the other involving modeling of radioactivity delivery to a melanoma tumor during radioimmunotherapy (with Professor Ekaterina Dadachova of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine).
